Last summer, Salomon-sponsored runner Max King grabbed a running-pack and set off, on foot, to explore a few sections of one of the most iconic roads in the world. Route 66 was the first highway of its kind and for nearly six decades, the 2,448-mile long road from Chicago to Los Angeles nurtured communities and towns. The historic route encouraged travelers to take their time and soak in the landscape, as twisted and turned around the topography of the American West.
