Registration for this popular event is limited to 2,500 runners due to our commitment to minimize the impact in this beautiful area and to provide our guests with a quality destination running experience. The race sells out fast, so please plan to organize your teams and travel schedule early. The minimum age requirement for the half marathon is 12 years. This course is very scenic and easy to medium difficulty, with gentle rolling terrain on backcountry roads.

Confirmation

Your confirmation email will be issued by Active.com on our behalf. The email contains your Confirmation ID used to edit your registration or make additional purchases. Should you have lost your registration or are experiencing technical issues with your registration, email your request to [email protected] or call 877-228-4881.

1. Race Expo on Friday

We recommended that you pick up your race packet at the Race Expo, which is FREE and open to the public. At the Race Expo you will receive your bib, timing chip, shirt and other race information. Exhibitor booths, sampling, merchandise sales, seminars, wine tasting and other events are typically held at the Race Expo. All Race Expo details can be found at Race Expo.

If you are not able to make it to the Race Expo on Friday, October 27th, there are two other paid services provided for packet pickup.


2. Early Packet Pickup on Thursday

The Early Packet Pickup service is provided for those runners living or staying in or near San Francisco that prefer to receive their packets early and not drive to the expo location. Sign up for this service in conjunction with registration, or after registration, by using the link below. Your packet will be available for pickup at the Race Expo if you cannot attend for any reason.

3. Race Day Packet Pickup on Saturday

The Race Day Packet Pickup service is provided at the check-in table near the start area. Runners using the Race Day Packet Pickup service should plan on arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the race. Bibs and chips will be handed out before the race; shirts must be picked up from the Volunteer Check-In booth after the race at the finish festival.

Rules

Please line up at the start according to your pace. Elite runners will be positioned at the front with runners lining up behind them by mile pace. Please look for the pace signs posted along the start chute to guide your position. Please do not line up ahead of your pace time! This is chip timed so your time will officially begin when you cross the timing mat at the start line. Top 3 overall are on gun time. Take extra caution as you start the race!

Cones on the Roadways
ALWAYS stay inside right of the cones on the roadways, unless signs or chalk indicate otherwise. Straying outside of the defined cone line is dangerous and could result in disqualification.
Roller Blades, Skateboards, Animals & Bicycles
NO roller blades, skateboards, animals or bicycles on course without permission. Baby strollers designed for runners are permitted but must begin at the back of the starting line.
Portable music
Portable music with headphones are allowed but must be kept at low volume so runners can hear approaching traffic and verbal instructions from law enforcement and volunteers. Failure to abide may result in DQ.

Please obey law enforcement officers and volunteers at all times! They are positioned on course for your safety. In rare cases, law enforcement may require runners to stop to allow traffic to pass. Failure to obey law enforcement and volunteers may result in removal from the course and disqualification.

The Half Marathon Start Line is located at Francis Ford Coppola Winery.

The Hallowine 10K Start Line is located at Martorana Family Winery.
Please note that there is NO parking at the Start of the 10K. Check our Transportation Schedule to plan your route to the start.

Gear Check

A gear check area is provided at the start line of both the Half Marathon and the Hallowine 10K for runners to place their warm-ups and other items in the bag provided by race staff. Write your bib number and name on the bags and they will be transported to the finish area for pickup. Any items left at the event will be donated to charity after 14 days.

Bus transportation is provided from select locations to the Start Line. There is return bus service from the Finish Line to those original locations.

Awards

Top 3 Overall Male & Female
1st Place – $500 plus magnum of wine and Fortessa Award Plate
2nd Place – $250 plus magnum of wine
3rd Place – $150 plus magnum of wine
Note: Bonus of $400 paid for setting Men’s or Women’s course record after 3rd year of course use

Masters Awards
Men’s and Women’s Masters champions (40+) will be awarded a magnum of wine.

Age Group Awards
Wine is awarded to top 3 male and female finishers in age division every 5 years from 21 to 70 age groups. Awards are determined by the runner’s age on race day. Certificates are provided for the under 21-age group.

Team Awards
The fastest top 2 teams (after application of age/gender handicap) of 6 or more members will receive awards. A team must have a minimum of 6 runners finish the half marathon to qualify as a team. See Registration for more information.

Costume Awards
Best individual and team costumes receive awards! Please sign up at the expo or the festival information booth to enter the costume contest which starts at 10:30am.

Winery Challenge Cup
Open to teams of participating wineries, the Winery Challenge Cup is awarded to the fastest winery team (after application of age/gender handicap) of 6 or more runners.

10K Awards
The overall top 3 Male & top 3 Female finishers will receive awards. There will not be age group awards for the Hallowine 10K.

Cancellations

There are no registration refunds. However, if you are not able to use your registration for any reason you have two options to consider. The second option is described in the section below.

Pay a $50 fee to defer your registration to any Destination Races event open for registration within the 2017 Race Series (except Napa-to-Sonoma).

You must process your deferral at least 7 days prior to the race. No deferrals will be accepted for any reason once we are within 7 days of the race.

Transfers + Credits

Pay a $20 fee to transfer your registration to another individual.

Transfers may be processed up to and including the Race Expo (Cost $20) and must be initiated by the person seeking to transfer their registration.

To complete the process, the original registrant will navigate to https://myevents.active.com, will locate their race registration, and will select “Transfer to another athlete.” After selecting this option, they will be prompted to enter the new participant’s email address on the following page. The new participant will then be invited to claim the transfer via email where they will be directed to checkout on Active.com.

Once the new participant has accepted and checked out with the registration, the original participant will be refunded their registration, less the $20 transfer fee. The new runner will be provided a bib and packet.

Transfer Prior to October 7

On or after October 7

The person receiving the transfer must process transfers at the Race Expo. The new runner should get the necessary info from the original registrant, fill out the Transfer Form, and bring it to the the expo where they will pay for their registration. Once received, the original participant’s registration refund will be processed and they will receive the refund less the $20 transfer fee.
