The Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon is truly a hidden gem, offering an experience unique to any of its sister events in the series. Hosted in Yamhill County in the heart of the Willamette Valley, participants rave about the small-town charm, incredible sunrise views, scenic course, great wines, and post-race Wine & Music Festival, presented by Ken Wright Cellars. Less than an hour from Portland, this thriving wine region is a favorite of Pinot Noir lovers and romantics who desire a less hectic vacation experience. If you aren’t already a resident or frequent visitor, you’ll be sure to fall in love with the area and this race. Bring your family and friends and plan to stay and play!
1. Early Packet Pickup
The Early Packet Pickup service is provided for those runners living or staying in the Portland area that prefer to receive their packets early and not drive to the expo location.

2. Race Expo on Saturday
We recommended that you pick up your race packet at the Race Expo, which is FREE and open to the public. At the Race Expo you will receive your bib, timing chip, shirt and other race information. Exhibitor booths, sampling, merchandise sales, seminars, wine tasting and other events are held at the Race Expo. Race Expo details can be found at the Race Expo page.

NOTE: If you are not able to make it to the Race Expo on Saturday, September 2nd, there are two other paid services provided for packet pickup. You may also have a friend pick up your packet for you but they MUST have a copy of your ID with them.
3. Race Day Packet Pickup on Saturday
The Race Day Packet Pickup service is provided at the will-call table near the Stoller Family Estate tasting room. Runners using the Race Day Packet Pickup service should plan on arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the race. Bibs and chips will be handed out before the race; shirts must be picked up from the Info tent after the race in the finish festival. Sign up for this service in conjunction with registration, or after registration by using the link below. Packets will also be available at the Race Expo if you sign up for this service.

Please line up at the start according to your pace. Elite runners will be positioned at the front with runners lining up behind them by mile pace. Please look for the pace signs posted along the start chute to guide your position. Please do not line up ahead of your pace time! This is chip timed so your time will officially begin when you cross the timing mat at the start line. Top 3 overall are on gun time. Take extra caution as you start the race!
Cones on the Roadways
ALWAYS stay inside right of the cones on the roadways, unless signs or chalk indicate otherwise. Straying outside of the defined cone line is dangerous and could result in disqualification.
Roller Blades, Skateboards, Animals & Bicycles
NO roller blades, skateboards, animals or bicycles on course without permission. Baby strollers designed for runners are permitted but must begin at the back of the starting line.
Portable music with headphones are allowed but must be kept at low volume so runners can hear approaching traffic and verbal instructions from law enforcement and volunteers. Failure to abide may result in DQ.
Please obey law enforcement officers and volunteers at all times! They are positioned on course for your safety. In rare cases, law enforcement may require runners to stop to allow traffic to pass. Failure to obey law enforcement and volunteers may result in removal from the course and disqualification.
Half Marathon Start

Please note that there is NO parking at the Relay Transition Point at Abbey Farm Rd. All runners must be dropped off. Check our Transportation Schedule to plan your route to the start.
A gear check area is provided at the start line of the Half Marathon for runners to place their warm-ups and other items in the bag provided by race staff. Write your bib number and name on the bags and they will be transported to the finish area for pickup. Any items left at the event will be donated to charity after 14 days.
Top 3 Overall Male & Female
1st Place – $500 plus wine and Fortessa Award Plate
2nd Place – $300 plus wine
3rd Place – $200 plus wine Note: Bonus of $400 paid for setting Men’s or Women’s course record after 3rd year of course use
Masters Awards Men’s and Women’s Masters champions (40+) will be awarded a magnum of wine.
Age Group Awards Wine is awarded to top 3 male and female finishers in age division every 5 years from 21 to 70 age groups. Awards are determined by the runner’s age on race day.
Team Awards The fastest top 2 teams (after application of age/gender handicap) of 6 or more members will receive awards. A team must have a minimum of 6 runners finish the half marathon to qualify as a team. See Registration for more information.
Relay Awards The top Relay Team will receive a prize of wine.
Winery Challenge Cup Open to teams of participating wineries, the Winery Challenge Cup is awarded to the fastest winery team (after application of age/gender handicap) of 6 or more runners.
Event Cancellation + Transfer Policy
Entry fees are non-refundable.
We appreciate you, as our customer, and understand that sometimes you just can’t make the race. We have created a great policy that offers you several different options in the event you cannot attend on race day. (You may choose only one of the options below.)
Defer Your Entry: You may defer your entry to the 2019 event. Deferrals must be processed by the event registration team. An administration fee of $25 will be charged in the event you defer. The deferral will expire after the 2019 event and you will not be able to defer your registration again. Athletes may request a deferral by submitting an email request to [email protected] prior to August 26th, 2018.
Transfers: You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. However, bib transfers are allowed for an administration charge of $25 and must be processed through your ACTIVE MyEvents account no later than August 3rd, 2018. If you transfer your bib, you will receive a refund (minus the $25 administration charge) once the new participant signs up. The new runner will need to pay the full entry fee at the time of the transfer. This process is in place to avoid any fraudulent sales of race numbers.
Log into your MyEvents.ACTIVE.com account and select “Transfer registration” to begin the process.
Purchase Event Insurance: Booking Protect offers Registration Protector, which provides insurance to runners in many emergency and injury situations. This must be purchased at the time of registration, and cannot be retroactively added. If an event occurs that is covered under their policy, you would need to file a claim to receive a full race refund.
