Cool Gear: Janji Jaquaro Jacket

Fashion, function and philanthropy in a jacket

Janji Jaquaro Jacket, $108

Training gear takes a page from the high-style handbook

This versatile top layer transitions from shoulder season to the depths of winter (with a couple layers underneath) and looks good doing it. Inspired by Rainbow Mountain in the Andes of Peru, the jacket features a multi-layered mountain design that puts boring, solid-colored jackets to shame. More importantly, the wind and water-resistant fabric and stretchy form-fitting mesh side panels make it perfect for putting over a t-shirt in warmer weather or a long sleeve and half-zip in winter. It even has a hood cinch for a snug fit in windy and cold conditions. What’s more, a portion of the proceeds from Janji’s sales goes to fund organizations dedicated to building wells and providing water solutions around the world to those who lack basic access to clean water.
