About the Santa Ynez Valley
The Santa Ynez Valley boasts beautiful rolling hills silhouetted by orchards, vineyards, and even lush lavender farms. Unlike many of Northern California’s wine valleys, the mountain ranges in the Santa Ynez Valley actually run east to west. The Santa Ynez Valley’s transverse orientation and close proximity to the Pacific Ocean allow cool currents from the west to penetrate the hillsides.
Warm, hazy days, crisp nights, and soils rich in nutrients and diverse in chemistry create ideal growing conditions for some of the region’s most celebrated varietals, including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
