Volunteer Information

The majority of our volunteers come from partnering non-profit organizations on national, regional and local levels. Nearly 200 volunteers are needed to stage this event, and opportunities are available in a number of positions including registration check-in at the Race Expo, course monitors, wine glass distribution, bag check, recovery tent and medical support.

Official Community Partners

Foodbank of Santa Barbara County – The mission of the Foodbank is to end hunger and transform the health of Santa Barbara County through good nutrition. The Foodbank has served as the countywide hub for emergency food distribution since 1982, providing 10 million pounds of healthy food (half is fresh produce) and nutrition education programs to more than 173,000 Santa Barbara County residents annually. From warehouses in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, healthy foods procured from growers, grocery rescue, and individual supporters is distributed countywide.

The Foodbank partners with over 300 nonprofit agencies, schools, and community centers to distribute food. Foodbank nutrition education programs for children and families provide pathways to food security with access to healthy food and nutrition lessons to better the community’s health. Foodbank programs and food support is always free for all residents.

With every $1 donated, the Foodbank can provide 8 healthy meals for Santa Barbara County children, families, and seniors. Your support helps the Foodbank break the cycle of food insecurity with the foods and resources people need to lead healthful lives.

Santa Ynez Valley Union High SchoolSanta Ynez Valley Union High School – Santa Ynez Valley Union High School students, staff and its boosters are the primary provider of event volunteers.
