Here is an opportunity to help thousands of runners successfully cross the finish line at the Tar Heel 10 Miler. Our volunteers are the most important factor in truly making this event North Carolina’s Premier Running Experience! Endurance Magazine events are known for being extremely well-organized in every regard, including volunteer management.

Raise Money for Your Organization
The mission for all Endurance Magazine race events is to provide top-quality events to athletes of all abilities and to support local organizations and charities. This year, the Tar Heel 10 Miler and the Fleet Feet 4 Mile Run is excited to offer donations to charities and non-profit organizations in exchange for volunteer services. Donation amounts vary, depending on the assignment and number of volunteers provided. Volunteering is a great way to promote your group or organization. We would love to get as many organizations involved as possible, and will even feature your group on our website. For specific information on how your organization can partner with the Tar Heel 10 Miler, please email us!

One of the leading cancer centers in the nation, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As one of only 45 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, UNC Lineberger was rated as exceptional – the highest category – by the National Cancer Institute. The center brings together some of the most exceptional physicians and scientists in the country to investigate and improve the prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
UNC Club Track & Cross Country
One of the oldest collegiate running clubs in the country, UNC Club Track and Cross Country was founded in 1998 and is a member of UNC Sports Clubs and the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA). We provide a running group for both competitive and non-competitive runners – all runners are welcome! The club is active both semesters and competes in various races both on campus and off.
Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Carolina Cupboard will provide food assistance to individuals of the Carolina community be they student, staff, or faculty by acquiring and distributing food to those in need on this campus. The purpose of Carolina Cupboard is multidimensional in that it seeks to provide hunger-relief as well as educating, empowering, and engaging the surrounding community on issues related to food insecurity, poverty, and health & nutrition.
Kohl’s Bull City Fit
Kohl’s Bull City Fit is a community-based wellness program located in Durham, NC that offers free evening and weekend activity sessions that encourage and promote active living. We offer a safe and fun environment to put into practice the lifestyle modifications that are necessary to treat childhood obesity and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Black GIrls Run
Black Girls Run’s mission is to encourage ALL (especially African-American women) to make fitness and healthy living a priority. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 80% of African-American women are overweight. BGR! wants to create a movement to lower that percentage and subsequently, lower the number of women with chronic diseases associated with an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle.
TROSA is an innovative, multi-year residential program that enables substance abusers to be productive, recovering individuals by providing comprehensive treatment, work-based vocational training, education, and continuing care. We help substance abusers become healthy, productive members of their communities and families.
Chapel Hill Carrboro YMCA
The YMCA’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. For decades, the YMCA Mission has been central and foundational to our work. It continues as our driving force today. In that Christian principles are caring and inclusive, we respect various expressions of religion. We serve people from all faith traditions and perspectives. We will also create a welcoming environment for people to feel comfortable to explore spiritual matters and grow in Christian faith if they choose. Whether it’s an inspirational thought for the day at one of our overnight camps, daily scriptures at our Welcome Centers, a small group Bible study, or the Athlete’s Prayer before a youth basketball game, we strive to reflect our Christian principles in a caring and inclusive environment.
Lambda Pi Chi Sorority empowers women by providing a supportive network dedicated to their personal and professional advancement. Our Hermandad is further advanced by our shared dedication and promotion of public service and cultural awareness, with an emphasis on Latino history, contributions, and experiences.
GiGi’s Playhouse is all about achievement, belief and confidence. Serving children and adults of all ages, Playhouses across the country offer 30 educational and therapeutic programs at no charge to families. All programs aim to maximize self-confidence and empower individuals to achieve their greatest potential. Our literacy program alone teaches thousands of kids with Down syndrome to read every year! Founded by GiGi’s Mom in 2003 as a single location in Hoffman Estates, IL, GiGi’s Playhouse has grown into a strong network of 24 Playhouses including the first international Playhouse in Queretaro, Mexico. Last year, over 25,000 participants benefited from Playhouse programs.
Skipsations! Jump Rope Team has been performing, competing and teaching jump rope workshops and camps since 1999. Based in Chapel Hill, the Team consists of 28 boys and girls ranging in age from 6-18 years old with an additional contingent of adult members. The Team is active with after school and community programs. Community instructional class sessions are held at McDougal Elementary School.
Omega Phi Beta
Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a multiethnically-based, Latina-oriented organization embracing the diversity of all women. OPBSI was founded on March 15, 1989 by seventeen diverse women. We are an organization focusing on women’s empowerment, academic achievement, professionalism, service, and diversity. The purpose of Omega Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated is to Serve and Educate people of diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, leadership, and guidance. As positive role models, we promote unity of all cultures, focus on the empowerment of our gender and raise the standards of excellence in our academic, social, and personal endeavors.
Team Drea Foundation
The Team Drea Foundation funds and supports bold, innovative research to find a cure or effective treatment for ALS. We see raising awareness about this devastating disease as an opportunity to inspire people to live bravely, love joyfully, and appreciate the gift of life. For two years, Team Drea has encouraged people to take on a race that represents a challenge to them and use it as an opportunity to raise money for ALS. The new Team Drea Foundation will expand our impact by hosting athletic and social events. Team Drea has supported research through the Blazeman Foundation and the ALS Therapy Development Institute. The new Team Drea Foundation will continue this support and consider funding other bold, innovative research projects, particularly in North Carolina.
