Meghan McVeigh-Maciolek is a Philadelphia native and mother of two, Stella (7) and John (5). A graduate of Germantown Academy (’97) and Dickinson College (’01), Meghan has been a Sr. PM for Amazon the past five years. In this role, Meghan is responsible for the oversight of Amazon’s Global Contingent Workforce Compliance program.
Meghan created Germantown Academy’s Alumni Community Service Organization in 2018 as a way for GA Alumni, and the broader GA Community, to participate in service opportunities in honor of her late father, Peter C. McVeigh. Peter was a faculty member at Germantown Academy for 45 years, and the founder and Director of GA’s Community Service Organization. Immediately following his retirement in 2015, Peter was diagnosed with Stage 2B metastatic pancreatic cancer. He succumbed to the disease, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a courageous 18 month battle. The Alumni CSO Program also affords GA Alumni to mentor current students who are pursuing philanthropic and service oriented careers, to enable them to continue living Peter’s legacy.
The Alumni CSO Program’s efforts can be felt across the country and even globally, with GA Alumni participating in CSO events in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington D.C, Boston, LA and London. Locally, Philadelphia alumni support organizations such as Face to Face, Sunday Morning Breakfast Rescue Mission, Whosoever Gospel Mission, Christ Church South Philly, Project HOME, Cradles to Crayons, and St. John’s Hospice, and Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. Most recently, the GA Alumni CSO network collaborated with Philadelphia’s 3rd precinct to support The Francis Scott Key School, raising enough donations to create school bags for over 100 Kindergarten and First Grade students. Meghan also co-organized a running group in 2018 called “McVeigh’s Runners” to run Broad Street in support of Back on My Feet. Back on My Feet is a non-profit whose mission is to combat homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. Since its creation, McVeigh’s Runners has been able to raise over $20K in support of Back on My Feet.
Meghan is honored to support Legacy of Hope by running the LOVE Run through Philly Runs Free. Meghan is dedicated to running for those who cannot, to living her father’s legacy, and ensuring no cancer patient or their family goes hungry, ever again.
